Most searches are conducted per borough (county), including:

Does CourtAssist search sealed or confidential cases?
No.
Sealed, expunged, or confidential cases are not publicly accessible and cannot be disclosed.
Is this service the same as a background check?
No.
CourtAssist provides public court record searches only.
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and do not provide employment screening services.
How accurate are the searches?
Searches are conducted directly from official NYC court and register indexes.
We do not rely on bulk third-party databases.
